Teaching Information

Beaton Bagpipe Supply is owned and operated by Robbie Beaton of Scotia, New York. Robbie is a professional solo piper and regularly competes across North America. His most recent accomplishment was winning the Silver Medal Piobaireachd contest in Kansas City in 2014. Robbie has played in Grade 1 bands since the age of 14 including the Toronto Police Pipe Band and is the current Pipe Sergeant of the world renown 78th Fraser Highlanders Pipe Band.

Over the past 11 years with the 78th Fraser Highlanders Pipe Band, as well as working closely with the Scotia-Glenville Youth Pipe Band, Robbie has had an opportunity to develop his ear for bagpipe sound. Through these experiences, Robbie has developed an extensive network of bagpipers, drummers and pipe bands all over the world.

Lessons:

Robbie has an established reputation for quality tutoring, sound, bagpipe sales, custom bagpipe set up and service. He is a sought out solo and pipe band instructor throughout the Northeast U.S.A. and is regularly taking on students over Skype and in person who are looking to improve their craft. He works with people all ages and abilities for weekly or bi-monthly lessons that work for their schedule.

Workshops: 

Have Robbie come work with your group for a day or a weekend. Tailored to your needs, topics could include reed selection, maintenance, tuning, unison playing, individual music work, etc.
